Our Visitor Information Centre is a great places to find out what is going on around our city, and also around the greater Western Bay area. They know all the boat charters, homestays, places to visit, and how to get there.

Parks and Reserves

There are lots of opportunities to take advantage of the great outdoors in Tauranga.

The city’s premier parks include Memorial Park, Mauao, McLaren Falls Park and Yatton Park. We aim to have a playground within 500m of every residential home in Tauranga City.

There is also a huge range of walkways and cycleways throughout the city. Highlights include the Mauao base track, Waikareao Estuary, Gordon Carmichael Reserve and Waioraka Reserve.

Gardens

Should you wish to visit some gardens in Tauranga the Visitor Information Centre has details of private gardens open to the public.

Sports

Tauranga City and the Western Bay of Plenty offers a huge range of things to do in the sporting arena.

ASB Arena at Baypark is a new nine-court sports and events centre. Bay Leisure and Events Ltd manages all of the indoor sports centres.

Sport Bay of Plenty has a list of all sporting organisations and clubs.

Arts and Culture

Baycourt Community & Arts Centre

Baycourt is Tauranga’s premier performing arts facility and is extensively used by local, regional, national and international performances, conferences and exhibitions.

Tauranga Art Gallery

The Tauranga Art Gallery delivers exhibitions of historical, modern and contemporary art.
