Draft Development Contributions Policy 2017-2018Tauranga City Council reviews its Development Contributions Policy on an annual basis. A draft policy is made publically available and any group, organisation or individual can make a submission on the content of the policy.

How do I make a submission?

The draft 2017/18 Policy will be open for public submissions (alongside the 2017/18 Annual Plan consultation) from 20 March 2017 until 2.00pm 20 April 2017.

Full copies of the proposed policy and submission form are also available from Council’s Willow Street Street Customer Service Centre, the Tauranga, Mount Maunganui, Greerton and Papamoa Libraries and on Council’s website at  
 
If you also wish to present your submission in person, Council will hear verbal submissions on the 9 – 12 May 2017. You can indicate if you wish to speak to your submission on the submission form.

The final 2017/18 Development Contributions Policy is due to be adopted by Council on 28 June 2017. The new policy will apply to any developments consented on or after 1 July 2017.

Key Dates

  • Public consultation: 20 March until 5pm 20 April 2017
  • Submission hearings: 9-12 May 2017
  • Council deliberations: 7-9 June 2017
  • Adoption of final Annual Plan and development contributions: 28 June 2017

Section 6 contains tables which set out detailed costing information for each asset (or group of assets) for which council collects development contributions. The tables are grouped by urban growth area and in some cases show the methodology used for calculating the development contribution charges set out in Section 1.
