Tauranga’s parking machines will soon change to a paperless system. You'll need to enter your licence plate number when you pay for your parking at the new machines.
You don’t need to display a paper ticket on your dashboard, as your information is automatically sent to us. Enforcement is done via licence plate recognition instead, the same as for PayMyPark.
How to get a receipt with the paperless system
When you complete your parking transaction you will be asked if you want an e-receipt, if you select 'yes' you will be given an e-receipt code.
To receive a copy of your receipt enter the e-receipt code and your licence plate number on my-reciept.com
The first time you do this, you can choose to register your email address so that all future receipts and transaction details for that plate number will be sent to your email address. You must select ‘yes’ at the machine when asked if you would like an e-receipt.
PayMyPark is an app that lets you manage all of your parking payments from your phone or desktop and extend your parking remotely. You can use PayMyPark for on-street and off-street parking, but not for parking buildings.
The app is integrated with Council’s parking system. When our parking officers enter your vehicle’s registration number into their tablet, your parking details show up on their screen. You don’t need to display a ticket on your dashboard.
You can set up an account with PayMyPark or pay as you go. Credit card transaction fees apply.
If you have any concerns or questions about using PayMyPark, please contact our parking team.
