Durham Street project update - Friday, 12 October 2018

Durham Street

The water main upgrade and utility service replacement continues along Durham Street. We are coordinating with Hawkins, the construction team for the Waikato University Campus, to ensure both projects progress to their timeframes.

Durham Lane

Piling for the first retaining wall by the Bongard Centre is complete and panels will be erected this week. Pictured is the view of the laneway site with the piles in place.

Next week we will be excavating for the second retaining wall, which will be down near the Craigs building (highlighted on map below). We have been working with the local businesses to ensure neighbours are aware of the works, and there may be minor access delays coming through this point.

Spring Street and Durham Street Intersection

The shaping of the new intersection space has been completed and base material will be laid down next week. There will also be some preparation for the new kerbing.
