Local Government Commission invites submissions on Tauriko West boundary proposal

The Local Government Commission is inviting submissions on the proposed change in the boundary between Western Bay of Plenty District and Tauranga City at Tauriko West.

The proposed change was applied for by Western Bay of Plenty District Council in 2018 to the Commission.

The Commission considered the change appropriate but is inviting the community to have input before it makes any final decisions.

The proposal is for 189 hectares at Tauriko West, currently within the Western Bay District, to become part of the city and be available for residential development in the medium to long term.

People wanting further information can phone the Commission’s office on +64 4 4602228

Closing date for submissions is 17 April 2020.

People wishing to make submissions can either email: info@lgc.govt.nz or post to The Local Government Commission, PO Box 5362, Wellington 6140

You can download the consultation document here:

Print copies of the proposal are available at the Tauranga City Council customer service centre, Tauranga Central Library and Greerton Library
