Turret Road slip lane to close Thursday 26 March

The Turret Road slip lane exit will be permanently closed from Thursday 26th of March 2020.

The slip lane was originally planned to be closed in April when the Burrows Street traffic lights come on line as part of the council’s 15th Avenue upgrade. Closing the slip lane sooner means the contractor can get started on work required to turn it into a cul-de-sac, potentially saving time for the entire project.

Work along 15th Avenue and the Burrows Street intersection will continue. There will be some disruption at the Burrows intersection so we recommend people use Fraser Street instead of Burrows Street until the new lights are up and running.

Tauranga City Council and its contractors are following Ministry of Health guidance for all of our ongoing construction projects. Our top priority is people’s health. Estimated completion dates for this project might change as we respond to the evolving situation of Covid-19.
