On Saturday, 18 March the Village is celebrating all the different cultures that make Tauranga a vibrant, diverse place to live. Tauranga Multicultural Festival has been a flagship event in the city since 1998, providing yummy food, a variety of performances and more. Head to the Village from 10am – 5pm, and don’t miss the parade of nations at noon. Entry is by gold coin donation.

Kick off your multiculturalism day at The Village’s new hospitality spot A’si’dle, run by mother and son duo Berta and Ivan. Try a delicious boere breakfast, a South African-style fry-up that takes place every Saturday morning. Make sure you book as there are limited places available.  And if you’re heading to the Hawkes Bay Fundraiser Exhibition the night before, pop in for a drink as the team will donate 10% of your bill to the cause.

The Jam Factory has three great gigs over the weekend. Band and Deliver is a youth/college band event which features four groups from across Tauranga and Waihi. Head along to see great young musicians for free from 7pm.  On Saturday, The RVMES will play an energy-packed indie gig, and on Sunday Red Street takes the stage playing their original tunes.

Detour Theatre, the Village’s resident theatre, is showcasing Hardcase Hotel on both Friday and Saturday nights. This is a classic murder mystery with a twist of comedy not to be missed!
