In April 2019 Tauranga City Council Chief Executive and the General Manager of Corporate Services engaged an independent consultant, Max Pederson to review the Marine Precinct after concerns were raised by some precinct business owners and facility users.
Due to the scope, the number of stakeholders and the technical nature of the Marine Precinct, this review is being completed in two parts:
- Part one will assess how well the council has delivered on the undertakings it made to the stakeholders, users and investors of the Marine Precinct and neighbouring wharf facilities.
- Part two will review the current operations of the Marine Precinct.
