Marine Facilities Strategy

Marine Facilities

We are developing a Marine Facilities Strategy that will guide the way our community and visitors access Tauranga Harbour, Te Awanui, in the future.

Marine facilities are our boat ramps, wharves, jetties and pontoons. They provide access to Te Awanui primarily for recreation and commercial purposes.

Council has included funding in the recent Long Term Plan for the redevelopment of Fisherman’s Wharf and new boat ramps at Sulphur Point. The Marine Facilities Strategy will help guide when these facilities are required and what else may be needed to provide opportunities for you to access the harbour.

Please fill out our short survey so we can better understand how you use our marine facilities now and are likely to use them in the future.

The survey will run from 5 July to 23 July 2021. During this time, we’ll also be out and about around Tauranga asking our community to take part so keep an eye out for us and come and have a chat.
