Tauranga City Council operates both on and off-street pay and time restricted parking.

On-street Parking

  • On-street parking spaces are serviced by individual and pay-and-display parking meters. 
  • Parking is free on Saturdays and Sundays and public holidays.

Off-street Parking

  • There are off-street pay-and-display areas in central Tauranga, Greerton and Mount Maunganui. 
  • It is free to park in these areas on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays.

There are 10 off-street car parks in the city centre.  All off-street parking is pay and display parking.  The off-street car parks are at the following locations:

Time Restricted Parking

  • Time restricted parking (outside the city centre areas) has zones ranging from ten minutes to two hours to control parking times. 
     
  • These can be enforced on Mondays to Sunday but not on public holidays.
