Book a roadside sign

If the community could benefit from knowing about your event, you can apply to advertise your event in public roadside sign locations.

Where are the roadside sign sites?

We have locations throughout the city where you can book a roadside sign space. A selection of these are “permanent” metal frames that you can attach your sign to, and the remainder are “site only” (i.e. designated empty spaces) where you must install your own wooden frame/post and sign.

You can find a list of all sign locations as well as a site map alongside the terms and conditions in the PDF below.

How long can I book a location for?

Each roadside sign location (frame or site only) may be booked for a maximum of 14 days. During busy periods we may limit bookings to six locations (frame or site only) per event. This booking period may be amended by us from time to time, at our sole discretion.

What size sign can I install?

Permanent frames

There are two permanent frame sizes:

  • Frames F1, F2, F3, F6, F7, F8 and F9 are 900mm high x 1800mm wide.
  • Frames F5 and F10 – F18 are 1200mm high x 2400mm wide.

The sign attached to either size metal frame can be no larger than 1200mm high x 2400mm wide.

Site only

Our sites are designated spaces where you must install your own wooden frame and sign. These are numbered S19 to S65 on the map.

  • The top of your own frame/post and sign must be no higher than 2700mm from the ground once installed.
  • The sign attached to your own frame/post can be no larger than 1200mm high x 2400mm wide.
  • Only wooden framing/posts can be used. (e.g. no metal waratahs).

How much are they?

$4.00 including GST per location (frame or site per day), which will be invoiced to the applicant.

How do I book a roadside sign?

Step 1: Read our Terms and Conditions on page 2 of the Roadside sign information summary document.

Step 2: Request a booking online. Make sure to check if you are requesting a permanent frame location or a designated site only. If you haven’t booked with us before, you will also need to set up an account with our online booking system (Ungerboeck) after you have selected your locations.

Please note that by selecting “Frame”, you are booking a permanent metal frame at that location for you to attach your sign to. Where you book “Site”, you are booking a space of land at the location to erect your own wooden frame/post and sign.

Step 3: Your booking is considered confirmed when you have received written confirmation from council and your invoice has been paid.
