On Monday, Tauranga City Council will be laying new sections of asphalt on the road on both sides of the new shared crossing adjacent to the Otumoetai Health Centre on Ngatai Road.
Tēna koutou. Despite the recent wet weather we are still on track to finish major works currently underway by the end of July.

We hope you are safely enjoying the transition to Level 2. Work on the Ngatai Road project has continued at a good pace under Level 3 and Level 2 protocols.
We've been getting ready to shift to alert level 3 on Tuesday, 28 April. Activity will start returning to construction sites that were shut down for the level 4 lockdown. This includes the Ngatai Road construction sites.
As we head toward Covid-19 alert level 4, all of the council’s active construction sites are being shut down and contractors are making the sites safe.
The first section of the cycleway is being constructed this week between the saltmarsh crossing and Emily Place.
We will start building the second shared crossing near the Otumoetai Road roundabout next week. This work requires a west-bound lane closure beside the Otumoetai Health Centre.
We have made good progress on the shared crossing and pathway by the Matua saltmarsh. The first half has been completed, which we're expecting to open for traffic on Monday after the concrete has cured.
