Tauranga City Council are seeking the services of an independent, appropriately qualified person to provide the services of Engineer to Contract for the Waiāri Water Treatment Plant physical works contract. An overview of the extent of the physical works contract or "Contact Works" is provided under Appendix A of the proposed Form of Contract.

The powers and responsibilities of the role will be as set out in NZS 3910:2013. A Producer Statement PS4 Construction Review is required by Western Bay of Plenty District Council, the Building Consent Authority (BCA), prior to issuing a Code of Compliance Certificate. Candidates should be eligible to undertake and produce this requirement as part of the services.

Powers vested in the Engineer under the contract, except for the reviewing of matters in dispute, can be delegated to the Engineers Representative under NZS 3910:2013. Tauranga City Council intends to utilise staff member Dave Lenton to fulfil the role of Engineers Representative.
