This is to notify you that a wastewater overflow has occurred at Sutherland Road on 11 October 2025.
The overflow was a result of sewer line breakage. This will have impacted the Waikareao Estuary.
Council staff and contractors are repairing the broken pipe and putting up warning signs.
Water quality sampling will be undertaken as soon as practicable next week.
