Whakamōhiotanga
The watermain shut on Sunday night went successfully, thanks to all those that were involved. The water main upgrade and utility service replacement continues along Durham Street, and is currently out the front of new University of Waikato Campus.
Excavation work is complete and work has started on the new retaining wall next to the Bongard Centre. All local businesses have been provided with alternative parking in this area. Many thanks to all those that are accommodating the changes due to the work in the area.
Excavation is underway on the intersection for laying of new pavement.
We know that some businesses on Durham Street are not seeing as many customers visiting their shops, and we would like to do what we can to help. Each week we would like to profile one different business that has been affected by the Durham St upgrade and perhaps encourage a few of our readers to support these businesses. Please let us know if you would like to go on our list to be profiled, email hoc@tauranga.govt.nz.
Traffic management remains the same as per map below (The yellow block is the site where Durham Lane works are underway):
Should you have any queries regarding this work, please email hoc@tauranga.govt.nz or call 07 577 7000.
