The Waikorire and four-wheel drive tracks on Mauao are expected be closed for up to five hours tomorrow morning.

The closure is to ensure visitor safety during a targeted aerial spraying operation to control a Japanese honeysuckle infestation on the southern face of Mauao.

The closure will occur from approximately 5.30am to 10.30am. Signage barriers and security will be in place to manage the closure.

The Base Track and Oruahine Tracks will remain open.

The closure may be delayed to the same time on Thursday or Friday if it is too windy to spray tomorrow.
