Whakamōhiotanga
Please be advised there will be watermain shutdowns on the nights of Sunday 23 and Monday 24 June. The shutdowns will happen on Elizabeth Street, from Devonport Road to Cameron Road, to allow the new watermains in Durham Street to be connected to the Elizabeth Street main. Affected properties will be notified via letter drop next week.
The last of the concrete parking bays on the west side of the road will be poured this week. This means all of the footpath concrete on that side will be in place by then.
More rain gardens have been installed near the entrance to the Trustpower building. We only have three left to install in this area.
The Chorus cables relocation design has been resolved. We can now continue with the preparation for the cobblestones to be placed and the temporary road connections between the new concrete and existing roads.
Durham Lane, from Durham Street to the Bongard Centre, remains closed to traffic while the Durham Street footpath and parking areas are concreted and cured.
Work continues on the accessway from Spring Street to the University of Waikato. The Lane has now been excavated down to its new level providing better sight distance on the lane. The Lane remains closed to traffic and pedestrians while excavation and construction is underway.
Please contact Keith Campbell our Stakeholder Manager if you have any concerns or questions regarding the construction.
