Together with the Arataki community, Tauranga City Council has completed a make-over of two alleyways in Arataki. The upgrade work is part of a wider community project to provide attractive alternate routes for people on foot and on bikes. Arataki residents are invited to the official unveiling of the refreshed alleyways on Thursday 12 December starting at 9.30am at the Berwick Place entrance to the alleyway.

 

Council supported the local community in the painting of fences in the alleyways between Berescourt Court to Solway Place and Berwick Place to Compton Place. Mount Intermediate School students have painted bollards and created some fantastic art panels that will be attached to the alleyway fences.

 

The upgrade works included improvements to the concrete path, remedial flood work, installation of a safety mirror, installation of LED streetlights, and improved kerb drop downs at the alleyway entrances.
