Stage one of the wastewater upgrade will see Fulton Hogan and Downer replacing the main sewer pipe running along Cameron Road, from Harington Street to Elizabeth Street, as well as connecting across Cameron Road to businesses and down some side streets.
Under COVID-19 Alert Level 4 work will be halted on the wastewater upgrade for the remainder of this week. The current traffic management will remain in place. This means the southbound closure of Cameron Road will remain in place from Harrington Street to Wharf Street and there will still be one lane available for Northbound traffic along Cameron Road through the site.
It is expected this work will take up to three months to complete, with sections of Cameron Road reduced to Northbound traffic only. The eastern side (heading southbound) of Cameron Road will be closed to traffic between McLean Street and Wharf Street. The lateral connections across Cameron Road will be completed as nightworks. This will require a full road closure from Elizabeth Street intersection to McLean Street. Access to residents will be maintained and the road will be reinstated for northbound traffic by 6am.
Visit our website for more information on this project.
No works to take place during Alert Level 4. Work will resume at Level 3.
