Mauao is now open after being closed due to Cyclone Gabrielle.

The team have carried out extensive checks of the maunga which has weathered the storm well, but some track surfaces may be uneven so please take care and be mindful when visiting.

Some of the team will remain on the maunga to carry out minor works with some small, intermittent closures on track sections while the work is completed.

We appreciate the community's patience while this closure was in place.
