3 Hōngongoi: Balm Making - introductory balm making with Nettie Black from Wishing Tree - The Incubator Hub
4 Hōngongoi: Matariki Kite Day - wrap up warm, bring your whanau along to Fergusson Park this Sunday and fly your own kite or watch the professionals at play. Food stalls available - Tauranga City Libraries
1 - 10 Hōngongoi: Kohi Kāri - celebrate the wonders of Matariki around us in Tauranga Moana. Visit your local library and collect a set of Kohi Kāri (cards), each library has a different set to collect. Once you have your cards, the scavenger hunt begins. 5 Hōngongoi: Depicting Decolonisation in Creative Spaces - panel speakers will be Nigel Borell former Māori curator at the Auckland Art Gallery Toi o Tamaki, Puawai Cairns Director Audience and Insight at Te Papa, Linda Munn full-time artist. The kōrero will cover what it means to be Māori working or presenting in an institution or creative space - The Incubator Hub
8 - 9 Hōngongoi: Matariki Cultural Connections - a two-day training package for anyone who wants to learn about our city and our region's history, local iwi and hāpu and the cultural richness of the land. Lunches and bus tour provided. Cost $20. Bookings essential - Te Pou Takawaenga
10 Hōngongoi: Te Iwa o Matariki - a panel discussion chaired by Arpege Taratoa. Panel members include a range of leading tangata whenua creatives and commentators including Tauranga-based artist Tawhai Rickard (Ngāti Uepohatu, Ngāti Porou) who concurrently presents The Misadventures of Te Kuri at the Gallery - Tauranga Art Gallery
