Brothels

Our bylaw provides clear guidance on where brothels can operate, while preventing harm and minimising the potential for any nuisance.

In 2003, prostitution was decriminalised in New Zealand so we are unable to prohibit the activity in Tauranga. However, councils can adopt bylaws to determine where brothels can operate and how they can advertise their services in our city.
