Applications open for the CCO board intern programme

Following a successful first year, Tauranga City Council is inviting applications for its second intake of the council-controlled organisation (CCO) Board Intern programme.

This year’s opportunity is for an aspiring director to become a board intern with Bay Venues Limited, the kaitiaki of 24 community facilities in Tauranga Moana.

The programme aims to increase diversity on CCO boards and provide a pipeline of prospective board members in the Bay of Plenty.

This voluntary role offers a range of benefits including the opportunity for aspiring board members to start their governance careers in a supportive environment, receive mentoring and professional development training, and the chance to build their networks within the organisation and wider community.

The intern must demonstrate a strong commitment, motivation and desire to pursue directorship opportunities.

For further information about the TCC-CCO Board Intern Programme and for a full job spec, visit www.tauranga.govt.nz/cco.

Applications close on Thursday 28th September and interviews will be held in Tauranga on Tuesday 3rd October, with the internship commencing on Wednesday 1st November 2023 for a 12-month term.
