Road closure Poike Road 11-18 April 2023
We will be strengthening the water trunk main pipeline under the ground on Poike Road from 11 April – 18 April 2023. We have scheduled this work in the Easter school holidays to reduce traffic disruption. This work will be weather dependent, as welding on the water pipeline cannot be undertaken in a wet environment.
Limited vehicle access
For the first stage of this project, there will be two worksites on Poike Road, on either side of Hollister Lane.
- Morning peak flow is only for vehicles exiting left out of Hollister Lane onto Poike Road. This traffic lane will be open at peak times from 6am – 9am.
- Afternoon peak traffic is only for vehicles from Poike Road entering right into Hollister Lane. This is from 4pm to 6pm.
- The road will be fully closed between 9am and 4pm and again between 6pm and 6am.
The road will be completely closed to right turning traffic out of Hollister Lane outside 107 Poike Road.
Detour
Detours will be in place for both Poike Road and Hollister Lane, and you will need to plan ahead as traffic delays can be expected.

Further information will be available at www.baybus.co.nz, phone Baybus at 0800 BAYBUS (0800 4 229287) or email support@baybus.zendesk.com
Pedestrian/cycle access
There will still be full pedestrian/cyclist access around both work sites, via the pedestrian footpath. Please follow all signage and any instructions from work staff onsite.
