The story so far

We’ve identified there are areas in Gate Pa which don’t meet the level of service for open space that we agreed to provide.

We purchased land on Cameron Road next to Gilmours for the development of a new neighbourhood reserve.

Last year we engaged with the local community and tangata whenua to understand what your aspirations were for a new neighbourhood reserve in Gate Pa. 

This is what we heard you’d like: 

• for existing trees to be preserved
• footpaths/walkways and cycle connections
• seating and tables
• a drinking fountain
• a playground and additional play space
• a treehouse
• flowers, fruit trees and gardens
• shelter and shade
• a basketball half court
• for the park to be safe and visible.

The three concept designs above have been developed with these ideas in mind.
