Compliance information

The vehicle crossing shall comply with IDC drawings T430, T431 and T432.

If during the course of construction, it is necessary for Council assets to be relocated, then the required work will be carried out at the owner’s expense.

Application checklist

  • The location of the crossing, including at least one dimension to an adjacent property boundary
  • The width of the vehicle crossing at the kerb, the width at the footpath (if applicable), as well as the width of the backing slab
  • The grade(s) of the crossing must be shown
  • Any adjacent Council assets shown in the vehicle crossing compliance information above.

Note: Existing manholes, hydrants and valve boxes may be located in new crossings, but must be re-levelled so as to be flush with the new surface. In the case of a fire hydrant, the clearance between the top of the spindle and the underside of the cover must be maintained between 100mm minimum, and 250mm maximum. This work MUST be carried out by one of Council's Licensed Contractors.

  • Once validated, TCC's contractor or Streetlight Asset Manager may be required to undertake a site visit for feasibility of lighting placement
  • TCC's Streetlight Asset Manager may wish to have the new lighting layout peer reviewed to assure the lighting performance is not compromised and adversely affecting public safety
  • A PowerCo Approved Contractor shall be engaged to undertake these works
  • The relocation or addition to street lighting shall be paid for by the property owner, which will encompass materials, design, physical works, traffic management, any consents and any PowerCo stand over’s required for works in close proximity with high voltage lines or underground cabling if required

Declaration

  1. I warrant I am the legal owner of the property, or I have been formally authorised by the legal owner to submit this application on their behalf.
  2. I acknowledge that this service connection application is subject to, and I agree to comply with, the conditions of Tauranga City Council's Operative Water Supply Bylaw (Bylaw) and Infrastructure Development Code (IDC).
  3. I warrant that all water and drainage works (Works) shall be undertaken by a contractor(s) selected from Tauranga City Council’s approved list of contractors, and approved by Tauranga City Council in writing. I understand that engaging a contractor that is not on the approved list of contractors is not permitted and may result in failed inspections. Should the Works be completed by a contractor that is not on the approved list of contractors, fail to meet IDC standards, fail to comply with the Bylaw or any other lawful requirement, Tauranga City Council may issue a written notice requiring the Works to be rectified. In the event the Works are not rectified within a timely manner to Tauranga City Council’s reasonable satisfaction, Tauranga City Council may engage a contractor from the approved list of contractors to rectify or complete the Works, and I accept full responsibility for all costs to rectify the Works, including inspection and administration fees.
  4. I understand Tauranga City Council reserves the right to update its approved list of contractors from time to time and may reject any contractor, including those on the approved list, for any reason. Any change in contractor shall be subject to the express written permission of Tauranga City Council.
  5. I accept full liability, and indemnify Tauranga City Council, for any damage caused to Tauranga City Council’s infrastructure or third-party assets as a result of the Works associated with this application, whether carried out by myself or any contractor I engage.
  6. I undertake to notify Tauranga City Council in writing of any change in the use of the premises. I understand that failure to do so constitutes an offence under Section 114 of the Building Act 2004 and may result in a fine of up to $5,000.
  7. I grant permission for authorised Council officers to access the site for the purpose of undertaking inspections related to this application.
  8. I acknowledge that final approval of the Works, and the release of any Asset Protection Bond, is subject to the submission of accurate as-built documentation for the Works and the Tauranga City Council passing a final inspection for the Works.
  9. All information provided in this application is true and correct. I understand that providing false or misleading information may result in this application being rejected, and/or any authorisation being revoked and/or enforcement action.
