Give back to the community by taking part in a stream or estuary clean up or get behind the scenes at one of our treatment plant tours.
Stream and estuary clean ups
A great opportunity for schools to actively give back to their local community and for students to learn about pollution, our stormwater network, sustainability, reducing/reusing/recycle waste, and help to clear rubbish from their local environment.
The stream and estuary clean-up programme is jointly run by Tauranga City Council and Bay of Plenty Regional Council, and sponsored by Downer NZ.
To register your interest and for more information email James Piddock or call 07 577 7000.
Waste and wastewater treatment plant tours
If you’ve ever wondered how our drinking water gets treated, or what happens to your dirty water after taking a shower or flushing the loo? You might like to take a sneaky peek behind the scenes at our treatment plants.
