Local Government Funding Agency

The NZ Local Government Funding Agency ("LGFA") raises debt on behalf of local authorities on terms that are more favourable to them than if they raised the debt directly.

Purpose of the LGFA:

LGFA specialises in financing the New Zealand local government sector, primarily to provide more efficient financing costs and diversified financing sources for New Zealand local authorities and council-controlled organisations.

LGFA works hard to benefit local communities through delivering efficient financing for local government.

The council-controlled organisation's governance structure comprises of the New Zealand Government (20%) and 30 councils (80%), the LGFA Shareholders Council and the LGFA Board of Directors.

For more information about the LGFA, the board of directors, their statements of intent, annual and six monthly reports, please visit the LGFA website.
