Tauranga Art Gallery Trust

Tauranga Art Gallery Trust (“TAGT”) is a trust, controlled by Tauranga City Council.

Council appoints trustees to the council-controlled organisation's (CCO) board of trustees.

Purpose of the CCO and Toi Tauranga Art Gallery:

TAGT owns and operates Toi Tauranga Art Gallery on behalf of the residents of Tauranga and the Western Bay of Plenty, ensuring sound governance and financial management. TAGT aims to create exceptional art experiences that engage, inspire, challenge and educate through exhibitions, public programmes and events.

Toi Tauranga Art Gallery is the Bay of Plenty's pre-eminent visual arts destination. Following a recent redevelopment, the gallery has reopened its doors to reveal a beautifully renewed space and we warmly welcome visitors to experience the transformation.

We collaborate with artists from across the globe to deliver art experiences that engage, educate, challenge, and inspire. Through meaningful encounters with art, a comprehensive education programme, and a vibrant calendar of events, we help people of all ages find deep and lasting connections with creativity.

Located in Tauranga's city centre, at the heart of the Te Manawataki o Te Papa precinct, the gallery is accessible from Masonic Park and open daily from 10am to 4pm.

Visit the website to explore our current exhibitions and upcoming events.
