Tauranga and Wharepai Domains

Tauranga and Wharepai Domains are Tauranga’s premier parks for athletics and hosts cricket, football, rugby and touch rugby clubs.

Please note that most of Tauranga Domain is currently closed for remediation work.

The athletics track and half of Field One are still open for use and are bookable on a case by case basis. Access to the Tauranga Tennis, Tauranga Sports, Croquet and Bowling Clubs is not affected.

Active Reserves Master Plan

As a growing city, we’re dedicated to improving the capacity and quality of the city-wide network of venues for sports, recreation, and events to benefit community wellbeing.

We’ve embarked upon a programme of work which considers multiple opportunities for community sport, recreation, events and high-performance training across Tauranga’s network of active reserves. As part of the process, we’ve developed the Active Reserves Master Plan to help guide short, medium and long-term investments by Council. Read more about the Active Reserves Master Plan below.
