If your dog dies, you can apply for a partial refund of the registration fee (providing the fee was initially paid to Tauranga City Council).
You need to apply for the refund by completing the deceased dog refund application form, and we’ll calculate the number of complete months remaining after the date of notification. If we are notified some time after the dog’s death, the refund may be backdated where a veterinary certificate is provided and it is still within the current registration period.
There are a number of refund methods available, including cash, eftpos and direct credit (refer to the application form for all options). Please note, if the refund is processed by direct credit, we require a copy of your bank deposit slip.
