Council confirmed today that it will recommend the establishment of a new special housing area in Papamoa East.
On Tuesday 2 October the City Transformation Committee reviewed submissions on and discussed the proposed special housing area, put forward by developer Bluehaven Holdings Limited for a site they own at 4 Emerald Shores Drive.
Today the full Council gave its support to this proposal as well, which will now be recommended to the Minister for Housing and Urban Development for final decision.
The concept proposed by the developer is of a lifestyle village similar to one at Kamahi Crescent, providing 77 single-level detached dwellings, to be developed under leasehold agreements for people 55 years or older. Sixty percent of the dwellings would be two-bedroom, and sold under $300,000.
