Overnight there has been a crash between a vehicle and power pole at the intersection of Hull Road and Totara Street. A number of power poles have been brought down in the incident, PowerCo advise that the roads will be closed most of the day while the scene is cleared and powerlines are cleared and poles replaced.
A number of diversions are in place:
- For traffic from Maunganui Road: diversions are Hull Road onto Mark Road onto Triton Avenue and then onto Totara Street
- For traffic from Hewletts Road onto Totara Street: diversions are Triton Avenue, Mark Road onto Hull Road
- For traffic north of Hull Road diversions are from Totara Street onto Kawaka Street and onto Manganui Road.
Congestion is forming in this area, and we are asking people to please avoid it if you can as there will be delays on this route.
