This is to notify you that a wastewater overflow has occurred at Sutherland Road, Brookfield, Tauranga on 21 February 2026.
The overflow was a result of paper and wipes. This will have impacted on the Waikareao Estuary.
Council staff and contractors have cleared the blockage and disinfected the affected area and put up warning signs.
Water quality sampling will be undertaken as soon as weather permits.
