This is to notify you that a wastewater overflow has occurred at Third Avenue, Tauranga on 27 March 2026.
The overflow was a result of heavy rainfall. This will have impacted Waikareao Estuary.
Council staff and contractors have put up warning signs at prominent access points and cleaned up the immediate area.
Water quality sampling will be undertaken as soon as weather permits.
