Friday 29 March, from 9.45am, Trustpower Baypark Arena
Tauranga City and Western Bay of Plenty District council mayors welcome members of their communities to join them to watch the simulcast of the national memorial service this Friday at Trustpower Baypark Arena from 9.45am.
“The intent of the National Remembrance Service is to bring people and communities together to reflect honour and mourn. This gives New Zealanders of all ethnicities and beliefs the opportunity to remember those who lost their lives and to gather together to emphasise that New Zealand is a country of diversity, acceptance, hope and peace.” (Department of Internal Affairs) People are able to come and find a seat from 8.30am for the 9.45am start. There is plenty of onsite parking available, including accessibility parking. Due to New Zealand’s risk level remaining at high, there will be a visible police presence at the service and the possibility of bag searches. Please join us on Friday, 29 March from 9.45am to 11am at Trustpower Baypark Arena, so we can stand together at the same time in our grief, and to show aroha and compassion to those who have been affected.
