Durham Street project update - Friday 9 November 2018

Good afternoon,
See below this week’s update on the project.

Durham Street

The water main upgrade continues along Durham Street, we are nearing the end of the road on the west side. The power ducting and gas renewal works are following behind closely, and we are altering our plans to work outside normal hours to minimise the impact on existing businesses.

Our first excavation for the rain gardens is complete near to the University Campus site. We will be installing the concrete structure early next week.

Durham Lane

We have removed the wall and the concrete near Craigs building and will start to put in the new piles next week. The access along the lane remains closed to pedestrians and vehicles for safety reasons. We have begun work at the south end of the lane to install new underground services including water, storm water and fibre connections. Through traffic in this area is restricted.

Spring Street and Durham Street Intersection

The cement stabilised metal is now in place at the intersection and work is beginning on the final concrete layer. Expect to see some exciting changes in this space next week! Below is an image of the boxing which has begun!
