Please see below this week’s update on the project.
Durham Street
- Our work to prepare garden pits continues, with another dig completed.
- We have completed the next stage of pavement preparation on the section of the street near the University in readiness for concrete in January.
- We will continue working nights through until December 21, to install new stormwater pipes that are required to address a conflict between the stormwater and water mains. Traffic management will be in place, and we may need to restrict access from time to time during the night.
Durham Lane
- Access remains restricted near the Bongard Centre for the next week.
- Pavement works will start next week at the south end.
- The wall outside Craigs has been completed and the car park has been reinstated. Access off Spring Street is now open.
Spring Street and Durham Street Intersection
- The last pour on the intersection is scheduled for Monday, and then the 28-day curing process begins.
- Our next phase is to prepare the footpath areas for concrete and cobblestones. This work will start in the New Year.
Christmas Holiday Period: Dec 21 – January 6
The team will be taking a much-deserved break over the Christmas holiday period. There will be no work activity on site between December 21 and January 7. The one-way access along Durham Street will remain in place during this time and there will be no change to the traffic management at Spring Street intersection. If you have any issues over this time, you can call the Council mainline on 07 577 7000.
Traffic management remains the same as per map below (Note Durham Street will be closed to through traffic for night works only):
