Work on the Southern Pipeline Harbour Crossing is entering its final stages, with the last phase of reaming now underway.

At its meeting today, the City Transformation Committee agreed to recommend to Council that it adopt the Tauranga City Centre Spatial Framework, which will guide the future look and feel of the city centre

Tauranga City Council is at the pointy end of a year’s worth of research, evaluation and engagement for a proposed museum and new central library for Tauranga as part of the revitalisation of the Heart of the City.

A series of challenges has slowed progress on the Southern Pipeline harbour crossing project, with a possibility that the final phase of construction work will extend into the new year.
