Tauranga City Council’s Long-term Plan 2021-31 (LTP) has taken a significant step forward with the conclusion of deliberations which have confirmed the work programme and budgets that will guide the city’s future for the next decade.

During the Long-Term Plan deliberations commissioners have agreed to stagger the development contributions increases after listening to the concerns of the community through the submission process.

With Tauranga City Council’s new kerbside collection service starting this Thursday, households are encouraged to become familiar with what can and can’t go in the recycling, food scraps, glass and rubbish bins; and when the new services start for them.

Tauranga households can return to normal water use as water restrictions have been lifted today Monday 28 June.

“Tauranga’s arts, culture and heritage sector have really stood up and demonstrated the vital role that they play in the social, economic and cultural wellbeing of our city” said Council Commission Chair Anne Tolley.
