Winter Nights Winter Lights, Tauranga’s light festival for everyone is set to illuminate the city this weekend from Friday, 13 July to Monday, 16 July.

Sunday's Winter Nights Winter Lights has been cancelled due to the strong wind warnings and the heavy rain forecast.

Tauranga City Council’s redeveloped event funding framework is now open and event organisers are encouraged to submit applications for the community event fund, event support fund and major event fund.

One hundred and nine white crosses are at the heart of commemorating the centenary of the armistice that ended the First World War in 1918.

The first three of Tauranga’s 109 crosses have been put in place in a dawn ceremony at the waterfront as part of the city’s Armistice commemorations.
