Bay of Plenty residents and visitors alike will be able to enjoy the beauty of Te Rere o Ōmanawa/ Ōmanawa Falls this summer after the newly-enhanced site opens this weekend.

From tennis rackets to cricket bats, and squash balls to rugby balls, Tauranga is gearing up for an incredible summer of sport.

To significantly improve safety for pedestrians and cyclists at the Tara Road and Parton Road roundabout in Pāpāmoa, Tauranga City Council is installing four signalled, raised crossings. To allow the safe construction of the crossings, night closures are required for five nights starting Sunday, 3 December 2023.

An opportunity to bring learnings from lectures into real-world experience has become a reality for 23 tertiary students who started summer internships and research projects at Tauranga City Council last week.

Work has begun on a new ‘living seawall’ that will attract marine plants and animals to the waterfront along The Strand in Tauranga city centre.
