Current water shutdowns.

From time to time it’s necessary to temporarily shut off parts of our water network to carry out annual water mains flushing, upgrades or emergency repairs.

Please note if this page is blank there are no current planned shutdowns.

Wastewater Overflow Notification - Takapu Street, Matua

Overflow Notification

This is to notify you that a wastewater overflow has occurred at Takapu Street, Matua on 24 June 2025

The overflow was a result of fats. This will have impacted the Tauranga Harbour.

Current Actions

Council staff and contractors have cleared the blockage, disinfected the area, and put up warning signs at public access points within Fergusson Park.

Water quality sampling will be undertaken next week, weather permitting.
