Road closures

Tauranga City Council have taken community feedback on board and deferred several planned parking initiatives in the city, as well as delaying the roll-out of part-time bus lanes on Cameron Road.

Community groups will have more funding options available to them following a change to Tauranga City Council’s Community Funding Policy.

The Cameron Road/ Fifteenth Avenue intersection will be closed to traffic at nights from 6pm Sunday, 26 November to 6am Thursday, 30 November for work to resurface the intersection. The closure is expected to be in place for four nights (weather dependent).

Downtown Mount Maunganui will be awash with orange on Thursday, 30 November as over 800 primary and intermediate school students march and wave banners in the Schools’ Road Safe Orange Walk.

Tauranga City Council, alongside the Acorn Foundation, TECT and BayTrust, recently conducted the second edition of this in-depth research. Facilitated by independent research company Key Research, the survey focused on understanding the needs, wants and aspirations of the communities within Tauranga.
