Tauranga City Council, pursuant to Section 24 of the Reserves Act 1977, hereby gives notice of the proposal to change up to 1,000m2 of the reserve classification of Golf Road Reserve, 62-64 Golf Road, Mount Maunganui.
Golf Road Reserve is currently owned and administered by Tauranga City Council as a Recreation Reserve under the Reserves Act 1977, and Council proposes to change part of the classification to Local Purpose (Community Building) Reserve.
The reason for the proposed change is to enable the Mount Maunganui Playcentre to relocate from Blake Park to Golf Road Reserve. This use is not consistent with the current Recreation Reserve classification for this part of the site. The balance of the site is intended to remain Recreation Reserve.
The 1,000m2 area is legally described as being part of Section 106 Block VII Tauranga Survey District. The total area of Golf Road Reserve is 8,240m2.
Any person claiming to be affected by the proposal has the right to object to the change anytime between 3 December 2021 and 14 January 2022, and may give notice in writing of the objection to the proposed change, and the grounds for the objection to:
