Whareroa boat ramp and carpark - new access hours
From Friday, 20 December 2024, new access hours have been introduced at the Whareroa boat ramp and carpark in response to community concerns about vandalism, littering, and unauthorised access to private property. The area will be open during the summer from 4am to 9pm, and during the winter from 5am to 7pm. Freedom campers are still welcome to enter the area within these hours to use the facilities overnight. A barrier arm has been installed on Ruatahapari Way, along with improved lighting and CCTV.
Sulphur Point boat park currently has full occupancy.
7m to 9m boat park spaces - waitlist is closed.
10m boat park spaces - waitlist is open.
Please email leasing@tauranga.govt.nz to register your interest for a 10m boat park space. Include length and name of boat/trailer, and contact phone number.
Please note, time spent on the waitlist can be significant.
