Trees and vegetation

Trees contribute to Tauranga being a desirable place to live and are an important part of the city’s natural heritage and identity.

Trees also:

  • conserve water
  • make our air breathable
  • absorb air pollution
  • support our slopes
  • make our streets attractive and liveable
  • support our health and wellbeing
  • protect our properties from erosion
  • provide habitat and kai for wildlife.
