Bank transfers

You can pay your invoices or schedule regular payments from your bank account.

You can set this up with your own bank using the details below, or use POLi, our internet banking payment option.

And why not make paying even easier by setting up a direct debit for weekly, fortnightly or monthly payments. You’ll never get a late payment penalty, and you won’t even need to update your scheduled amounts each year. We will do this automatically for you.

Setting up payments with your bank

Customers within New Zealand

You can make arrangements with your bank to pay your rates and other bills using telephone or internet banking. You will need to provide the valuation reference number from your rates notice and your bank will have all of the other details required.

Customers outside of New Zealand

Customers outside of New Zealand or with an overseas bank will need to provide the following details to their bank:

Payee: Tauranga City Council
Bank: ANZ
Account number: 06 0433 0213474 00

Payee name Payer particulars Payer code Payer reference
Tauranga City Council Rates or Water Customer Number
(listed on your rates notice)
Valuation Reference number
(listed on your rates notice)

Note:  For multiple properties it is essential that a separate payment is set up for each property, as above. As the reference number is unique to the property, if you sell a property and purchase a new one, the reference number needs to be changed before your next rates invoice is paid.
