This year’s Travel Safe ‘Design your own helmet’ competition received 939 entries from 17 Tauranga and Western Bay of Plenty schools. The annual helmet competition celebrates the efforts of local students and teachers, striving to make their communities safer. The winners will be announced by Deputy Mayor Kelvin Clout on Thursday, 5 April at Tauranga City Council Chambers.
Council received entries in five categories: 5/6 year old, 7/8 year olds, 9/10 year old, Intermediate school students and the teachers category. The winners of each category will be presented with their helmet design professionally airbrushed by local artist Anthony Brodie.
This will be a great photo opportunity and we would like to invite you to attend this presentation.
