Durham Street project update - Friday, 31 August 2018

  • The upgrade of the wastewater system on Durham Street is nearing completion.
  • Plans to do weekend/night works this weekend to complete the wastewater connection into Elizabeth Street have been postponed. This is due to unknown existing services found and some technical problems.
  • We will advise when this work is happening as soon as possible, and will be looking to do this over a weekend again.
  • Once the wastewater system is completed, the trench at the Elizabeth Street end of Durham Street will be sealed and temporary angle parking for the public installed outside the retail area.
  • Stormwater work at Spring Street intersection is continuing and the installation of new water main and service ducting along the west side of Durham Street has begun.
  • Planning is underway to begin work in Durham Lane in mid-September. We will personally contact all affected parties to discuss the work and put in place plans to minimise the disruption.
  • We want to thank the public for their patience while the disruption in Durham Street continues; we look forward to the result, which will create a vibrant, safe and attractive environment.

Traffic management remains the same this week.

Please contact Keith Campbell our Stakeholder Manager if you have any concerns or questions.
